About Me

I love to cook and more importantly, I like to improve the way I cook certain dishes. As such, this blog is borne out of a desire for a simple and organized way to manage the different variations of the dish that I tried. I will be posting recipes, pictures and comments on what works for me and what don’t. Hopefully, you will enjoy your time here, and do remember to give your feedback! Cooking is a constant evolution, a process and definitely not an end result!

Stir-fry Long Bean with Crushed Salted Beans, Minced Meat and Dried Shrimps

by | |

I have wanted to cook this dish for a very long time, but it seems like NTUC rarely sell long beans. Hence, when I see it, with no hesitation, I bought it. This is a very traditional dish that goes very well with rice.

Ingredients
  1. Long Beans (Trimmed both ends and Cut into 4 to 5cm)
  2. 1 teaspoon of chopped Garlic
  3. 1 teaspoon of Salted Crushed Beans
  4. 1/4 teaspoon of Sugar
  5. 2 1/2 tablespoon of Minced Pork/ Chicken
  6. 1 1/2 tablespoon of Finely Chopped Dried Shrimps
  7. 1 tablespoon of Cooking Oil
Steps
  1. Add Cooking Oil into hot pan
  2. Add Garlic and stir-fry until fragrant (before garlic turned brown)
  3. Add Chopped Dried Shrimps and stir-fry until fragrant (approx 2 minutes)
  4. Add Minced Meat and stir-fry to mix well with dried shrimps until meat is 90% cooked (approx 3 minutes)
  5. Add Long Beans and stir-fry to mix well
  6. Add Crushed Salted Bean and stir-fry
  7. Add Sugar and stir-fry to mix well until Long Beans and Meat are cooked (approx 4 minutes)
Serve while Hot!

Good to go with Rice and a few more Chinese Dishes with a bowl of Chinese Soup.
